Here Are Some Ideas
Do not use foul language or make any personal threats.
- “I am one angry American who is tired of working my tail off only to have political leaders squander my income on foolish financial decisions. Please, let’s get back to spending less and saving more. That’s the message of thousands of Tea Party protesters today.”
- “As a taxpayer I am sick and tired of our government spreading the wealth by taking from those who work hard and giving it to those who do not. You ignore the sentiments of these Tea Party rallies at the peril of your own political future.”
- “America is fast becoming a second-rate power because of the foolish decisions of many of our political leaders. Let’s stop the rot and get back to following the Constitution.”
- “How much longer are the citizens of this country going to have to endure greedy politicians who are only looking to their next election campaign? Either quit the nonsense or expect the boot in the next election. That’s the message of the Tax Day Tea Parties all across the nation.”
- “I want to respectfully protest how our government is handling this financial crisis. Anyone knows that the average citizen cannot survive if he does what our government is doing. It’s time for a REAL change, not just a promised change.”
- “Mr. President: We are not going to take this much longer. Deficit spending that is burdening our grandchildren with unsustainable debt can no longer be tolerated. Continuing to pursue these policies will mean the downfall of this nation. Please listen to sound advice and not the stupidities you are hearing from your aids and associates.”
- “America has become a debtor nation. We cannot pursue deficit spending and punitive taxation policies any longer. Unless you institute sound financial policy, we are heading for a disaster of epic proportions.”
- “Congressman Frank: How long do you think Americans are going to tolerate your scandalous political behavior which condemns everyone else and lets yourself off the hook? If you ever had a good reputation, you no longer have one. Do the honorable thing and resign. At least get your fingers out of the till.”
- “Senator Dodd: You have long ago lost any level of respect by the lack of fiscal leadership you have given your country. We hold you responsible for much of the fiscal crisis we are experiencing. Do the honorable thing: admit your failures, and announce you will not run in the next election.”
- “Mr. Geitner: It is almost inconceivable that you would pretend to resolve the nation’s financial ills, starting from the position of a tax evader. Just where does the Constitution give you to authority to dictate to break contracts and to fire corporate employees? Listen to the Tea Party sentiments. The people are taking back the power. Start planning your retirement.”
